The NYS Public Authority Accountability Act

How do you start a The NYS Public Authority Accountability Act term paper? Our expert writers suggest like this:

The NYS Public Authority Accountability Act was enacted in 2005. As noted preliminarily already during lectures, this Act draws on select principles of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (S-OX) and Rule 404 of the SEC, and makes those principles applicable to the governance of public authorities in NYS. Among other things, it imposes specific controls by statute; there is the possibility of some of its provisions being applied to state agencies in certain respects, either by legislation or executive order; and, the Act also made the NYS Office of the Inspector General a creature of statute.

The e-reserve already has several items, including the Act itself, S-OX Rule 404, a related report by the NYS Comptroller, and a report by the AG and the State IG called for by the Governor which addressed the sale of certain land rights bordering the Erie Canal. There are other relevant materials available through research.

The Term Paper Requirements found in the e-reserve continue to apply. These must be read and their provisions regarding the use of endnotes, in particular, should be followed. With regard to research requirements, you may use all of the materials in the e-reserve, or any other material you obtain but you must develop at least 3 outside sources other than those in the ereserve (including class texts, if applicable). With this, please present your analysis of the following The NYS Public Authority Accountability Acts. This list is not intended to be exhaustive list nor to fix an agenda or priority.

5. Your assessment of the effectiveness of the Act’s provisions and the proposed controls.

7. Other aspects of the legislation, or related legislation, that you feel warrants analysis.

Any opinions expressed have to be backed up and logically flow from cited authorities and argument. Since much research material is readily available, it is your analysis and logical presentation that will distinguish the well-written paper. Speculation or unsupported opinions will only weaken it.
