Research Papers on the Gospels
Research papers on the Gospels of the Christian Bible can cover any aspect of the theological narratives that trace the life of Jesus and his disciples. Paper Masters has theology writers that can explicate the Gospels for you in a custom written research paper.
The Gospels all set the activity of Jesus Christ in two different localities:
- Galilee in the northland of Palestine
- The city of Jerusalem.
As for the sources of the information on Jesus’ teaching ministry, scholars and readers rely on the Gospel writers:
The Gospels are theological narratives that primarily emphasize the actions and teaching ministry of Jesus. They are purposeful and at times selective accounts (John 20.30-31; Luke 1.1-4). Problems arise, however, in the minds of readers who question the source and reliability of the Gospel writers, none of whom wrote when Jesus was alive with them on earth. In Luke 1:1-4 we see Luke addressing the issue of credibility:
Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. There, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, it seemed good also to me to write an orderly account for you.
Some scholars and historians have proposed several solutions to the problem of credibility: some have postulated that the Gospel writers all had access to an earlier Gospel, now lost; some thought that the oral tradition had become so stereotyped that it provided a common source from which all the Gospel writes drew; and the most commonly held view is that the Gospel of Mark and a hypothetical document, called Quelle (German for “source”) or Q, were used by Matthew and Luke as sources for most of the materials included in their Gospels.
