2. CHARTS, TABLES, AND GRAPHS
a. Charts, tables, graphs and figures that are larger than the standard report page must be folded to fit within the project report format. The folded edge (right-hand side) must be at least ¾ of an inch less than the outer edge of the regular report page.
b. Lettering on graphs and charts, if handwritten, must be done in black ink. All data should be word-processed or typed.
c. Photographic duplication is permissible. The copies should be clean and unblemished and be made on 20-lb. Bond paper with 25% or more cotton fiber.
d. Table headings are usually above the table in the following form: TABLE 1 NUMBER OF COLLEGES REPRESENTED e. Figure titles are usually below the figures in the following form: Figure 1. Number of Students Enrolled f. Table headings may be below the table and figure titles may be above the figure. However, the format chosen must be used consistently throughout the entire project document.
3. MOUNTING OF MAPS AND PICTURES Maps and pictures that are less than 11 inches in height, regardless of length, are to be mounted on a regular report page. They must be securely mounted on the page with dry-mount.
4. APPENDICES Lists of terms, definitions, questionnaires, and other supplemental information are useful, but not essential to the body of the project report, included in an appendix. After the appendix is prepared, an unnumbered page (slip sheet) should be inserted with APPENDIX or APPENDICES centered about 1/3 down the page. For example, if the last page of the bibliography were page 140, the first page of the appendix would be 141, with no allowance for a number of the slip-sheet between.
5. COLOR Everything should be in black and white including pictures, photographs, graphs, and charts. Labels, symbols, and cross-hatching can be used instead of color.
