Quran and Bible
A term paper on the Quran and the Bible points out that the major difference between Islam and Christianity lies in their religious texts. The Bible, Christianity’s holy text, was written by Jesus’ twelve disciples after his death. They chronicled his teachings and the events surrounding Christianity’s rise. God was involved in this text only through what he told Jesus, which was written down by the disciples. Muslims believe that the Qur’an, on the other hand, was God’s (Allah’s) dictation to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel. Instead of writing it down immediately, Muhammad passed its teachings orally. In the later stages of his life, the Qur’an was written.
Christians believe that the Bible is the only valid religious text. Muslims believe that the events chronicled in the Bible, even Jesus, were true. However, according to the Islamic faith, the Qur’an is final word from God and should take precedence over the books of the Bible. The Bible is not a holy text in the Islamic religion because they believe that the word of God has been altered through translation and could lead worshippers astray. The Christian faith does not believe that the Qur’an is the word of God. Explore the difference between the two religions in a religion term paper custom written by Paper Masters.
