Surveys have concluded that a relatively large number of American adults have experienced some type of psychological disorder within their lifetime.  While most antisocial personality disorders and phobic disorders appear before the age of 10, most other psychological disorders manifest themselves in the late teens or twenties. Almost everyone has experienced some form of anxiety due to stress. This is a prime example of how the difficulties of life can influence the mind and the body and, in turn, manifest itself in the form of an anxiety disorder.  The converse may also be true of anxiety disorder. It is theorized that persons experiencing anxiety disorder have an abnormal perception of their physical health and well-being during periods of anxiety. Rather than the anxiety causing physical illness, the patient percieves a greater amount of symptoms of illness during this time.
