Communication Theory Term Papers

Communication theory term papers illustrate that communication is everywhere.  I am communicating to you right now, and were this communication to be stored in some permanent fashion, it could communicate to persons far into the future.  Although this is written communication, being transmitted digitally, written and print media seem to be the most underutilized forms of communication available today.  With the advent of CNN, the Internet, and MTV, written communication has fallen into disuse in that it requires work on the part of the communicator to glean information.  E-mail, the latest and greatest form of digital communication, has all but replaced letter writing and phone calls, as it is far easier to jot a few lines back and forth when the moment strikes.

In evaluating the many forms of communication studied in a communications theory term paper, it is important to consider to which media we give the most truth.  The population as a whole seems to favor electronic communication, as most people still seem to believe everything they see on TV.  In my opinion, oral communication, which incorporates gestural communication, (i.e., facial expressions and body language) seems to be one of the most profound carriers of truth.

Electronic and digital communication best transmits the truth of how, what, and when.  Why comes through best in oral, written and print.  “Why” is far more subjective and harder to promulgate visually.  Like many other students of my generation, I prefer participating in electronic and digital communication, because of the immediate connection to the world.  The modes that most affect anyone are electronic: TV, radio and telephones are a staple in our society, and their influence grows daily.  A person can choose whether to pick up a newspaper, but cell phones and giant TV screens are everywhere.  Our society seems to be headed in a direction of constant access to information, and those who have the access have the advantage.
