Setting of the Problem
Insert the general description of the organization, community, or environment where the problem exists.
History and Background of the Problem
Provide a description of the problem as it exists. Provide the historical context of the problem letting your reader know how long the problem has existed and the factors that had an influence on it.
Scope of the Research Project
Describe which part of the setting will be included in this project. Tell which parts of the problem will be included in the project.
Importance or Significance of the Research Project
Show the importance or need for your project. Indicate who will benefit because you have completed this project. If it is for the benefit of only the researcher, say so.
Definition of Terms
Term define the term that you believe your reader needs to have clarified or to understand a specialized use of the term. This section is formatted with a hanging indent paragraph. Remember the list is presented in alphabetical order. A helpful hint to know is in Microsoft Word, you can automatically format - just go to Format | Paragraph | Indents and Spacing |Special. Select Hanging Indent and make certain the indent is set for .5” for each of your terms and it will format for you!
