The staff at Paper Masters hears it all the time – “I don’t need this class so I’m just doing this term paper to get me through it”. Aristotle would be appalled, and I agree, – there is no such thing as “not needing a class” and no class is useless, in and of itself. Aristotle once said, “The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet”. For Aristotle, knowledge and the ability to reason are the highest form of all happiness. It is true that no matter how useless and obscure a college class may seem or how completely irrelevant that a term paper topic may appear to you, something can be learned and valued from every course.
To prove that no course is truly useless, Paper Masters will be providing a six part series on some of the more obscure courses and their relevance in a student’s educational career. The focus will be how stupid term paper topics make brilliant students. The series will include the value of the course, how to write a good term paper for the course and a unique perspective on how the course can be applied to anyone’s life and educational goals.
Keep an eye on the blog tomorrow for the first of six entries on useless college courses!
